It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ustacio Feliberto Garcia, affectionately known as Phil, who left this world peacefully on June 15, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on July 5, 1948, in New Mexico, Phil spent his life dedicated to his family and community.

He resided in Del Norte, Colorado, where he built a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support. Phil is survived by his beloved children, Ramon (Patsy) Garcia, Christina Garcia, and Joaquin (Nydia) Garcia, as well as his cherished grandchildren: Toby, Christopher, Emily, Mariah, Crystal, Aleecia, Carlos, Abraham, and Jahquina. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Tillie, Jenny, Inez, Lorraine, and Bebe, who enjoyed many moments of laughter and wisdom shared with him.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his devoted wife Sadie Garcia, his eldest son Timothy Garcia and his brothers Jesse, Mike, and Arthur Garcia.

Phil's profound impact on those around him will be felt for generations. As a dedicated Golden Gloves boxing coach, he believed in the potential of every young athlete he mentored, inspiring countless lives and helping many achieve their dreams by guiding them to state tournaments. His encouragement, unwavering support, and belief in others created a legacy that extended far beyond the boxing ring.

Phil was a true jack of all trades whose determination and curiosity shaped every chapter of his life. He spent his early years working in the mines until they closed, after which he built a successful construction business alongside his two sons and daughter. Entirely self-taught,

Phil had an unwavering commitment to lifelong learning and was never afraid to take on a new challenge. He found joy in expanding his mind and exploring new ideas. Among his favorite books was The Teachings of Don Juan series, which reflected his fascination with philosophy, spirituality, and seeing the world through a different lens. He also enjoyed woodworking and creating art, always finding fulfillment in making something with his hands and imagination. His inquisitive mind, creativity, and lifelong pursuit of knowledge left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Phil was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who led by example through compassion, strength, and resilience. He had a big heart and genuinely cared about others, often stepping in with a protective spirit when needed, yet meeting life's challenges with humor and perspective. Among his greatest joys was the special bond he shared with his granddaughter, Mariah-the two were inseparable in spirit and shared a friendship that went far beyond generations. He loved all of his grandchildren deeply, but with Mariah, he shared something especially tender; he would call her his nina, his baby, his everything, and remind her that he would "love her forever days."

He was not only a steady guide to his family, but also a trusted friend to many, leaving behind a legacy rooted in kindness, wisdom, and the relationships he built throughout his life. Phil lived with the spirit of an impeccable warrior, meeting life's obstacles with grace, determination, and quiet strength. His life stood as a testament to the power of family bonds, the pursuit of knowledge, and the joy he found in his family and friends.
