Robert Wayne
Gonzales
March 18, 1995 – March 3, 2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Wayne Gonzales Jr., born on March 18, 1995, in Alamosa, Colorado. Robert left us too soon on March 3, 2026, at the age of 30, leaving behind a legacy marked by love, laughter, and an unforgettable spirit.
Robert is survived by his cherished son, Rudy Gonzales. He is also survived by his loving parents, Robert and Kim Gonzales. His sister Bella Gonzales, will forever hold dear the special bond they shared. The mother of his child Brittany Gonzales. Robert's family extends to his beloved grandmother Betty Crites, uncles Marty Crites, Kenny (Christine) Gonzales, and Stanley (Connie) Gonzales, along with numerous cousins and extended family members that will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rudy and Cecilia Gonzales and grandfather Dave Crites, along with several beloved aunts and uncles.
A graduate of Del Norte High School in 2013. Robert was a wrestler in school which helped to form his drive to work hard for anything you truly want to achieve. His strong work ethic was seen by anyone who worked with him as a Traffic Control Supervisor for his family's business Critters Barricades. He took immense pride in his work, earning the respect and admiration of the contractors he collaborated with. His joy, laughter, infectious attitude and his drive to make sure everything was done quickly, correctly and with poise made him a joy to work with. His Critters Barricades family crew will feel great loss for the role model and friend he was. He founded "Bubba Trash", showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit right after high school, and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. An adventurous soul, Bubba enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding side-by-sides, family game nights and BBQ's. His heart always leading him back to his family.
Bubba is known for his tremendous personality, his zest for life, his competitive nature, and the love he poured into his relationships. He had a unique ability to light up a room with his infectious smile and humor, often described as "ornery as hell" but with the biggest heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. A fan of fast cars, particularly Dodge trucks (with moose ears) Robert found joy in speed, freedom and adventure, all while wearing his heart on his sleeve.
Funeral services will be held to honor Robert's life and legacy. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday March 13, 2026 at the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Del Norte. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday March 14, 2026 also at the church in Del Norte. Interment will follow services in the Del Norte Cemetery. This will be a time for all who knew Robert to reflect on the incredible impact he had on our lives, to share stories of his vibrant character, and to find comfort from each other's company.
Bubba's spirit will forever live on in our hearts and memories. He will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
If any family or friends have pictures or memories they would like to share the family would be grateful. If you could also add stories or pictures you might have so they can enjoy those as well as they strive to heal.
