It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of 'Marvelous" Marvin Nick Martinez, age 58, on May 17, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Del Norte, Colorado. Born on February 19, 1967, Marvin was a cherished son, brother, and friend, known for his infectious laughter and generous spirit.

As a dedicated heavy equipment operator in the construction industry, Marvin's work ethic was unparalleled. He approached each day with determination and a commitment to helping others. In addition to his professional life, Marvin found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was camping in the great outdoors, fishing in the tranquil waters, or cruising in his beloved red truck.

A passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Marvin shared his love for football, wrestling, and music with his family and friends. His heart was full of compassion for others, and his knack for telling jokes brought warmth and laughter to every gathering. His spirit will be remembered in backyard barbecues, where the aromas of his cooking provided comfort and joy.

Marvin is survived by his loving siblings: Gifford (Ruth) Martinez, Ronald (Nancy) Martinez, David Martinez, Anthony (Felice) Martinez, Joyce Prosser, Yvonne (Mario) Dominguez, Nedra (Donald Benavides) Martinez, and Toni (Roddy Chacon) Quintana as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will resonate deeply within each of them.

Marvin was preceded in death by: his parents Joe and Eloisa Martinez, his sister Yvonne Martinez and his brother-in-law John Prosser.

In honor of Marvin's life, a visitation will be held Friday May 23, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm at the Mountain Valley Mortuary in Monte Vista. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Del Norte. Family and friends are invited to gather and share fond memories of a man who touched so many lives with his kindness and humor. Following the service, Marvin will be laid to rest at Del Norte Cemetery, where his spirit can continue to inspire those who knew him.

Marvin Nick Martinez was an honest man whose laughter and generosity will live on in our hearts forever. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
