In Loving Memory of Lambert "Lance" Stiers: A Life of Healing, Service, and Love.
Lambert "Lance" Stiers, born on November 14, 1953, to Donald and Arlene (Lambert) Stiers, embarked on a journey marked by compassion, creativity, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
Lance's passion for healing led him on a remarkable career path, from his humble beginnings as an orderly to his roles as an EMT, registered nurse, and eventually a physician assistant. Lance started a life flight helicopter program in both Omaha, Nebraska and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and delighted in sharing those stories of adrenaline-pumping emergencies.
Lance's legacy is further etched in the well-being of others with the founding of Quick Care Medical Services in 1996, where he championed accessible healthcare solutions for countless individuals. Twenty-eight years later, Quick Care continues providing for all of “Life’s Little Emergencies” in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Above all else, Lance cherished his role as a devoted father to Courtney, Justin, and Kirsten. His pride and joy radiated as he watched them grow into loving adults, alongside their respective partners Tyson Barr, Stacy Stiers, and Luke Sabala. Lance found immense happiness in the laughter and love of his grandchildren—Hudson, Camden, Mollee, Trevor, Ethan, Evelyn, and Ben—each one a precious reminder of the legacy he leaves behind.
In addition to his professional achievements, Lance found solace and excitement in his passions for riding motorcycles, bicycling, vacationing at the beach, hosting pool parties and showing his classic cars. His adventurous spirit and zest for life were evident to all who knew him.
Throughout the last 16 years, Lance faced numerous health challenges with unwavering courage and resilience, demonstrating an inspiring strength in the face of adversity. Despite the hurdles he encountered, Lance remained determined to live life to the fullest, cherishing every moment with his beloved family and friends and pursuing his passions with unmatched vigor. Even to the end, he was always in search of clever, innovative ways to solve even the smallest of everyday problems. With a little more time, he undoubtedly would have found his way to Shark Tank.
On March 22, 2024, surrounded by the love and support of his family, Lance peacefully departed this world, finally free from pain and into the arms of Jesus. His enduring legacy of courage, love, and perseverance will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Lance is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Arlene Stiers, his dog Chewy, and his best buddies Clark and Mikey. He is survived by his sister, Crystal (Richard) Shelton, nephews Eric Shelton, Aaron Shelton, Brent Shelton, and their families, and numerous cousins that he holds dear.
In memory of Lance, the family will establish the Lance Stiers Memorial/Quick Care Scholarship with the Scottsbluff Public Schools Foundation for Scottsbluff area students dedicated to pursuing careers in healthcare. May his legacy inspire future generations to serve their communities with compassion and excellence. Memorials may also be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 28th at 10:00am at Mitchell Berean Church with Pastor Giles Armstrong officiating. Following the celebration, a motorcycle and classic car processional will lead family and friends to the Weborg 21 Centre for a luncheon in his honor.
