Obituary

Albert Moises LeBlanc, 90, passed away on November 5, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on January 21, 1936, in Del Norte, Colorado, to Manuel LeBlanc and Isabelle Tafoya LeBlanc. Wherever life took him, West Del Norte was always home.

Albert shared 72 and a half years of marriage with his beloved wife, Juanita. His family was at the center of his life, and he worked hard to provide for them. He was especially protective of Juanita and treasured his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

For more than 25 years, Albert served with the Del Norte Volunteer Fire Department. He took great pride in being a firefighter and in his years of service to the community he called home.

Albert’s Catholic faith was a source of strength throughout his life. Prayer was deeply important to him, and he valued opportunities to share in prayer with others. He and Juanita donated the timer for the bell at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Del Norte, reflecting their devotion to their church and community.

Albert enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors. He also loved traveling, dining out, and dancing. Among his favorite pleasures were rides through town with Juanita by his side.

Albert is survived by his wife, Juanita; his son, Jerry (Luella) LeBlanc; and his daughter, Alberta (Darrin) Stacy. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shannon (Chris) Cain, Cameron (Erica) Stacy, Brennon (Nicole) Stacy, Marcos LeBlanc, Sher (Sheldon) Duran and, and Dawn Medina; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He leaves behind his sisters, Shirley Baca and Frances “Kika” LeBlanc.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his children, Barbara Jean LeBlanc, Sharon Atencio, and Melonie Longoria; and his siblings, Joe LeBlanc, Lucy Montoya, Eddie LeBlanc, Mary Baca, Steve LeBlanc, Tommy LeBlanc, and Lloyd LeBlanc.

A rosary and funeral Mass will be held in the coming days. Arrangements are pending and will be announced. Burial will take place in the Del Norte Cemetery.

Albert will be remembered for his devotion to Juanita, his love for his family, his steadfast faith, and his pride in serving his community.
